Holy smokes. I'm almost speechless-yet not at all. I just want to talk and talk and talk about this weekend but, Unfortunately, I can't find words to describe its utter perfection.
On Saturday, November 30th, I went to Clockenflap Music and Arts Festival in Hong Kong.
Just that sentence makes me all happy again.

I hadn't planned on going to it because it was at a busy time of year and I though it was expensive, despite the fact that one of my recent favorite bands, The 1975, was playing. Because of things that happened, I decided the night before (at like 11:30 pm) that I would go. Best decision of my life.
Honestly, I don't even think there is any way to explain how amazing it was. I was so excited the entire ferry ride to Hong Kong and then on the subway and then walking to. Literally had butterflies in my stomach. As soon as we arrived at the festival, I just felt amazing. Something about the air and sound of music everywhere was truly wonderful. It was really cool to just walk around and look about with live music in the background, I later realized that we hadn't even looked at half of the festival- oh well

When the band before Chic was playing, who were really awesome, Dhalyn and I stood in the front and were determined not to move. We were then right in front for Chic. Oh boy, I could not help but dance and sing along. It was such an amazing feeling knowing that everyone behind us was just as happy as we were while singing and dancing to some all time classics (Le Freak, Like a Virgin, We are family, the list goes on and on). Time went by so quickly while they were performing because they were so entertaining.
But then, it was time. The 1975 was setting up. Every once in a while during Chic, George came out on stage to set up his drums but not every one could see him. But every time he did come out, I waved like an idiot with the worlds largest smile on my face- oh yes he waved back (we definitely had a few moments). Back to after Chic. At one point Matt and Adam were right in front of us just getting ready and Dhalyn screamed "I love you matty!" To which he looked at her, waved, and blew her a kiss- oh I died. I then continued to smile and wave like an idiot at them both because they are wonderful.

Honestly, it was somewhat of a whirlwind. I do remember, however, how truly amazing The 1975 are at performing. First of all, they actually sound so much better live than they do on the album- which is hard to do since the album is perfect brilliance. But truly, everything about the sound was perfect beyond belief. And Secondly, they immediately had a connection to the audience. By just looking at everyone individually to show how much they cared (I of course was frozen when Matt sang to me because- perfection). And when they weren't staring into your soul, the love they have for their music just radiated from all of them and that energy went right back into the audience. They are by far one of the most amazing live performers I have ever seen. I would give anything to see them again because, just wow.
After they performed, I was in my own little world of second-hand adrenaline rush and pure happiness. If you ever have the chance to see them live, do it. I am so glad I did not not go because I would have regretted it. It truly was the best day ever- if I had better vocabulary I would have a better description of the elation I felt. It was perfect. Most definitely a day I will remember forever (Oh so cheesy yet so true).
