When people told me that they like running, I thought they were truly insane. But now, I understand it.
It's crazy but I really like to run now. My friend and I both decided that we should start running as we were on our weekly bubble-tea walk. She wanted to get fit for basketball season and I just wanted to get fit in general.
I honestly just feel better when I run- Well not always while I'm running because usually I feel like my legs are going to fall off or my lungs will just shrivel up. But afterwards, I feel great. Overall, I just feel healthier and happier (even when I eat two pieces of pizza after the run).
I'm hoping to make running a part of my daily schedule now so that in college I stay somewhat healthy. At least change my freshmen 50 to freshmen 40 :)
I'm just really happy that I have a friend who is willing to run with me because running with someone certainly makes it easier. If I slow down, she pushes me (not physically) and it's only because of her that I ever even started.
I've also become incredibly obsessed with the app RunKeeper (it may be on Android). It tracks your pace, distance, elevation and all this cool stuff. Plus it has built in training sessions and it's awesome. If you want to run, or run already, I highly recommend you get runkeeper. It's nice to see little trophies when you run more than you usually do :)
I never would have thought I would enjoy running or that it would become a sort of addiction. Getting over that first hurdle of actually starting was probably the worst part and now I feel 100% better about everything.
If you want to start getting somewhat fit or just feel better, just grab a friend and start running. We started with once a week and it somehow turned into 4 times together and 2 times by myself a week.
I'm honestly just proud of myself for doing anything at all so I wanted to share. What do you do to stay healthy? Or did you recently force yourself to do something and now love it?
