After years of hearing about Sephora, watching Sephora haul videos and talking to people about their favorite products, I finally was able to purchase some things from Sephora. I’ve come to the conclusion recently that taking care of your skin and feeling good are two very important things in life. I, very luckily, received some money for graduation and decided to pamper myself.
I thought I’d do a little Sephora Haul/Review. I’ve had some of these products for longer than others so my reviews will vary in detail.

First up, a few skin care related items.
I first saw the Origins moisturizer on SprinkleOfGlitter’s video and thought it seemed interesting. My friend had this Origins "Night-A-Mins" night time moisturizer when we spent a week in San Francisco together. I had just discovered what a difference moisturizing makes to your face’s clarity and smoothness, so she kindly let me borrow it. I fell in love. It is a brilliant moisturizer that really quenches dried skin and leaves you waking up with a smooth and even face, even after just one night. The fragrance is a very light, natural, slightly citrus scent that I love. When you first put it on, it seems like it makes your face a little greasy, but it sets in quickly and it has all night to set in. It might be considered pricy at $41, however, I totally think it is worth the price as it really does an amazing job and each time I use it, I barely need any so I know it will last a long time.
Josie Maran’s Daily Moisturizer was found a similar way to the Origins moisturizer. My friend let me use hers that she loved and I fell in love. First of all, it is mostly natural and harnesses the power of Argan oil (as most of Josie Maran’s stuff does), both are things that I love. It has great SPF, I have not been sunburned once while wearing this, which is shocking because I always get sunburned. It smells great and moisturizes well. I have a feeling this will last me quite a long time, so I do not worry about the $32 price tag.
And finally is the DiorSkin BB cream I went into the store looking for possibly a tinted moisturizer because of a sample I had gotten. The worker at Sephora was wonderful and helped me find this BB cream. My skin is not poor in many ways, but it is slightly uneven and red in places. I don’t like wearing foundation because it just feels like too much on my face. This BB cream does an amazing job at evening out my skin, hydrating and protecting me from the sun. I like to wear this when my face is having a rough day and I need a little pick me up. I read through some of the reviews after buying it, and many people say it goes on with streaks, or it looks ashy. I have never come across these issues, I think because I apply it with a Sephora brush and not my fingers. It stays all day and leaves my face looking a little brighter and overall, nicer. It is on the pricier side at $44; However, I use very little of it each time so it should last a while.

Recently, I have been searching for a cleanser and came across the Philsophy Purity cleanser. I have only ever heard good things about Philsophy and saw very few negative reviews. There was a great deal for two, 2 ounce cleanser, so I purchased them. After just three days of using the cleanser, I love it. It does a wonderful job of removing makeup and cleaning my pores out without drying out my skin. So far, this is a great purchase for $12.
These are the more "make-up” items.
The Josie Maran Argan Black Oil Mascara seemed truly wonderful from reading the natural ingredients and idea that it makes your lashes stronger while wearing it. But unfortunately, it has been a bit of a let-down. I have only had it for a few days, but it seems too dry. Even with the dryness (which could just be my own bottle), I do see the potential of a great mascara, just not for me. It does do a wonderful job of lengthening and darkening eyelashes while making them softer after removal. Unfortunately, because of my long but few lashes, it clumps them up instead of evenly spreading them out. This might work for some people, sadly I will be returning it. (I hope that just my mascara was dryed out and I can get a new one)
The next two kind of go together, The Benefit They’re Real Remover ($18) and the Push-up Liner ($24). The Remover is amazing and easily removes all make-up. I don’t have any bad things to say about it. I have a few more thoughts on the eye liner. I was super excited about this eyeliner after hearing about it from SprinkleofGlitter and seeing it everywhere at Sephora.com. First of all, it stays on forever and does not budge, which is why you need to buy the Benefit Remover. The somewhat negative aspect is that it really takes practice to get the hang of it. It was super challenging at first because it glides so easily, and I was gliding on the right line. But after some practice, it is a wonderful gel liner-made easy. The person who helped me at Sephora said “At first, it was incredibly frustrating, but after I practiced for a week or so, I love it and it takes me a minute or two.” That quote is pretty accurate to my experience. Although, my feelings are closer to like than love. I will keep practicing though as I’ve only done it 3 or 4 times.
This next product is Nars Concealer ($29). I had been desperately searching for a good concealer for under my eyes because I get very dark circle if I don’t sleep for at least 10 hours (so I have them all the time). This concealer easily hides my eye circles without much product. My only complaint is that sometimes it sets into my wrinkles and emphasizes them. This doesn’t happen always and I’m it would be fixed if I used a primer or eye cream first.
Finally, is the Sephora Color Reveal Lip Balm. This is only a deluxe sample, but I am about 99% that I will be purchasing the full size when this runs out. I love it. I had been searching for something to make my lips slightly more colorful without having to use my only lipstick (a bright red). I found it! It is very hydrating and adds just enough color to your lips by using your own lip color as the base.
I really love Sephora, I could spend hours there. My list for the next few months is to find a great lipstick, eyelash curler, and eye cream. What are your favorite beauty products or beauty stores?
